Not the wedding gown? No, Not the gown.
Start with the first most important thing.
To be able to enjoy being fabulous and absolutely stunning most beautiful woman you are in the whole world on your big day!
There is nothing worse than not being able to walk charmingly and comfortably in your wedding gown on your wedding day, right?
Whatever you choose: pumps, peep toe, open toe, wedges or sandals, high heels or ballerinas, your choice should not stop at one pair. As my only almost killed me towards the end of the evening. Real-life experience!
Please don’t forget you still have to smile and stay fabulous through out. But don’t worry, a good preparation will help you a big time and you are doing it.
Pumps:
Elegant, classic and always right. You will not need to think too hard to pick these guys. The question is: 9cm, 11cm, 12cm or more? In my opinion: 9cm is good to go. Elegant to walk down the aisle and still comfortable enough for few hours. Starting 12cm, I recommend platform pumps that will ease a lot of your pain!
Slingback, peep toe, sandals:
Together with pumps they all belong to the Heels or High Heels family. But unlike pumps, these guys bring a more relax looks and feels too. Less classic but still elegant and most of all, you have more freedom choosing and wearing them.
Wedges:
They are guilty for their bold, solid but also stylish and attractive look, all at the same time. I love wedges. But I also found them not as comfortable as other types of heels. The steps with them feel a bit like robot walk to me. Sometimes, fashion is not round and it hurts.
Ballerinas, flats:
Sweet and comfortable. It is never a bad idea to have these guys waiting by the side way, especially when the big day of yours normally started early with a bit of tiredness as the night before you might not have slept very well due to nervousness and/or excitement. Towards the evening and late night, those are what we will need and want all at once.
Conclusion:
It is a good practice to have either 2 or 3 pairs selected for your big day:
- 1 for the walk or the ceremony
- 1 more comfortable heels for the beginning of the party
- 1 flats or ballerinas for the evening or the night
